About Afendoulis Tuxedos and Cleaners
Our Roots.
It all started when George Afendoulis opened a shoe shine parlour and hat cleaner in downtown GR just before WWII. There wasn't much work available for a Greek imigrant new to America, but George found a service for Grand Rapids residents. Like so many others George had to put business aside to defend his new country. After returning from the war, George and his younger brothers Gus and Sam opened Afendoulis Dry Cleaners on Michigan Street, where the main plant still stands today. The bothers worked side by side attracting a loyal customer base with their dedication to service and an honest hardwork ethic.
Our Community
Afendoulis Cleaners is a fixture in the GR community. You could say we've grown up with our great city. We take pride in a long reputation of community involvement. Over the years we have supported many area schools, outreach programs, churches, ethnic groups, charities and the arts. Because, after all, we are all in this together. Despite a limited budget for giving, the Afendoulis family finds ways to help good causes through in kind donations, discounts and the donation of time and talents of individual family members. We are proud of the community in which we live, worship, work and learn.

Good, honest, professional service at fair prices... that's our mission and we take it seriously. We want our customers to be satisfied and we want to earn their trust with both our dry cleaning/textile care and our formalwear.
